In the last month, on 2 occasions, Parishoners who arrived at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Boston to attend the Traditional Latin Mass have been told that the Mass would be in English due to scheduling conflicts.

I really believe the Latin Mass goers need to press hard on this, and it appears that is what they are doing with the newspaper story. Now is the time when they are growing and NO Catholics are declining. I hope the two English Masses don't make the Latin Mass goers slink back into the shadows this time. They need to scream and protest! LOUDLY!
Did they do the Tridentine in English? Did they say "for all" or for "many" at the consecration of the chalice? Did any tambourines or guitars suddenly manifest themselves?
note Council of Trent:
CANON IX.--If any one saith, that the rite of the Roman Church, according to which a part of the canon and the words of consecration ... that the mass ought to be celebrated in the vulgar tongue only; ... let him be anathema.
The Archdiocese is treading very close on this one.
Side note: as someone who has been watching this issue intensely for 4 years ... it is well known that Archdiocese especially under the new Cardinal, have been eyeballing the Tridentine Mass which fangs bared.
Despite hundred of millions of dollars lost in lawsuits, churches sold off, schools closed, thousands abandoning the Faith, there is a certain set who see the elimination of the lone Tridentine Mass in the Diocese as a sort of cap stone project.
It is the only church in the Archdiocese where Catholics can hear the Mass in Latin, something that a small but growing number of them feel is integral to their spiritual life. Few priests in the Archdiocese are trained to celebrate it; Naughton cannot.
Holy Trinity is not the only Catholic church in the diocese that celebrates the Traditional Catholic Mass. Here is another:
