Poor Elliot

Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Spitzer

Spitzer is governor of NY.

The Take Down.

Things must have been really rough at home. Must be why Elliot felt compelled or entitled to pursue a tryst with a "petite pretty brunette".

Perhaps Elliot felt trapped. Unfulfilled. But people in politics never seem to appreciate irony.

Strangely enough it couldn't have happened to a nicer, more deserving guy.

Spitzer has a history of misusing his power, for example when he tried to use State Police Travel records to embarass the Republican Senate Majority Leader. The matter was investigated and Spitzer fired someone and made this statement:

I will not tolerate this behavior,"[39], "ethics and accountability must and will remain rigorous in my administration,"[40] and that "I have always stated that I want ethics and integrity to be the hallmarks of my administration. That is why I requested that the State Inspector General review the allegations with respect to my office, and that is why we have fully cooperated with both inquiries."[52

In spite of a press conference this afternoon Mr. "Ethics and Integrity" Spitzer has not resigned because Democrats don't resign, even when impeached.

New Yorkers sure know how to pick 'em.

It was a sad enough day back in New York when he defeated our great pro-life attorney general, Dennis Vacco, in 1998. We moved to North Carolina the following year. So glad we weren't still there when this devil got into the governor's mansion. About the only good he's since accomplished is arousing New York's bishops from their slumber with his attempt to force Catholic hospitals to provide abortions.

Too bad for him he didn't have enough sense to learn from Jersey Jim McGreevey. And I thought I'd have to wait for Hillary's concession speech for something to savor from the world of politics this year. Adios Elliot! You're still not packed yet??

Well my joy is tempered to learn that he has 3 young daughters. How awful for them. If only it could have been a financial scandal. Mea culpa.

But NCTRAD- why should you feel guilty? Spitzer is guilty. He is an evil man who has brought about his own downfall. Sad for his daughters and wife. Sure, but just think how much better off they will be without him.

Precisely. But I've loathed this man for so long, I must remember to rejoice for the RIGHT reasons, rather than the wrong reasons. I'm sure Spitzer's daughters adore their father, and I fear what this will encourage them to tolerate from the future men in their lives. What a miserable example he has set for them. Your article above could hardly be more timely.
