When I read this news: that the Holy Father says the Latin Mass for his private Mass I thought of this quote from this week's reading:
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them. Matthew 6:17-20

I saw that article - I liked the part where the 'special tourists' don't get to come in for the private Mass. Is B16's saying of the Latin Mass like hiding your lamp under a bushel basket? My prayer is that there will be one huge celebration in Rome on Sept 14th -when the MotoProprio goes into full swing - for the first Pontifical solemn high Mass since 1963. Fun time will finally be over.
I'm afraid these reports are not correct. See: http://www.cathnews.com/news/707/100.php
On the other hand, I attended a speech by a traditionalist monk on Sunday. He had studied the reports of the Pope celebrating the Traditional Roman Rite of Mass, and claimed that those refuting it were wrong, on the grounds that those making the original report were wise enough to tell the difference between the 62 rite and the novus ordo in Latin.
