This editorial will explain why when the Holy Father acknowledges broad use of the Latin Mass, he will really not be acknowledging broad use of the Latin Mass.
Why not?
Because Monsignor Timothy P. Stein doesn't want it to mean that.
For your amusement:
When you finish reading the articles about the Tridentine Rite of the Mass on pages 12 and 13 of this issue, don’t go rummaging through trunks in your attic looking for your old missals, and please don’t start calling the Bishop’s office saying “The Holy Father says you have to allow this.
According to Monsignor Stein what the Holy Father REALLY WANTS is more reverence in the Mass. The Novus Ordo Mass that is.
Guess what Diocesan Office will be the first to receive a phone call when it happens? Why the Diocese of Altoona- Johnstown where Monsignor Stein writes for the Diocesan paper of course.
I'll be sure to post the phone number then.

Oh, Mary, I live in the Altoona-Johnstown diocese, too. Do we know each other? Yes, many of the priests are going to be very resistant to the Latin Mass, and I do not think things will change over night around here.
I'm not from Altoona- Johnstown but I'm going to call anyway just in response to this editorial.
Oh, good for you, Mary!!
